Please congratulate the members of the Bulldog football team for their 14-0 victory over Down East.  Leading the Bulldog Offense was Cameron F with a rushing touchdown and AJ M with a pass reception for a score.  Eric D also had a 2 point conversion to put the Bulldogs up by 2 scores.  The Bulldog defense was led by Dominique H, Alex B, and Jackson C.  All of these young men had tremendous pursuing tackles to stop possible big runs.  The Bulldogs go back to work tomorrow to prepare for next week's game against Beaufort.

Hello Bulldog Family this is a little reminder from Nurse Samantha of some very important items that need to be taken care of as this school year comes to an end.

First, if you have a student that has any type of medication stored up front in the nurses’ office please make sure this is picked up by the last day of school.  Come Friday morning ALL medication still on campus will be discarded.  Please remember, each year requires a new medication order form from your health care provider if you desire a mediation to be given at school.  Your student should have brought home a letter with this form attached to it last Friday.

Also, Effective since the 2015-2016 school year all rising 7th graders are required 1 dose of Tdap and 1 dose of meningococcal vaccine, if they have not already received it.  Please contact your Health Care Provider or the Health Department to talk about which vaccines your child may need and to schedule an appointment.

***Don’t forget to get a copy of your child’s shot record!  Please bring a copy of this record to school on or before the first day of class. *****

Thank you for a great year and have a wonderful, safe and fun filled summer.

No trophy for the Nerds this year at States.

While they would have liked to come away with a team trophy, they have come so far and learned so much that they have every reason to celebrate their accomplishments. Now we get to really enjoy the fun and learning without the pressures and limits that come with competition!

We are very lucky to have experts that help Mrs, Hooley coach the team. Now the engineers can directly teach instead of being limited by strict competition rules. We get to help the students find solutions and learn the answers to their questions that they've had all season.

BCMS hosted  20 teams for the FLL Regional Tournament on Saturday.

Four of our five teams received a Trophy and The Nerds of Vesuvius advance to the FLL State Robotics Tournament at NC A&T University in Greensboro.

All in all, it was a spectacular day.  BCMS made the 7:00 news on WCTI 12.

Our PTO, volunteers, and parents were vital to this event and very own Kay Wolf received the Outstanding Volunteer Award!

A very special thank you to Kim Krohn for spending her Saturday with us and to JR for helping us get BCMS shiny and clean.

All teams will be meeting on Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 to review the tournament rubrics and official results.  Feel free to stop by the STEM lab and say hello.

SCRIP FUNDRAISING PROGRAM

SCRIP is a no-selling fundraising program!

Families purchase gift cards for their favorite retailers through Great Lakes Scrip (www.shopwithscrip.com) with no mark up. They use them to pay for things they would already buy (i.e. gas, groceries, etc.), and Broad Creek Middle School PTO earns money with each gift card purchase. Use Scrip to shop for clothing, home improvement, groceries, entertainment, dining, gas, office/school supplies, sporting goods, gifts, and more!

Example:

*A family purchases a $50 Speedway gas card and they receive a $50 Speedway gas card.

* Great Lakes Scrip provides the gas card at a 4% discount ($48)

* The remaining $2 goes directly into the Broad Creek PTO checking account to help support our school and our student’s needs.

Why Scrip is Great for Fundraising:

  • Everyday family purchases become immediate earnings for Broad Creek Middle School.
  • The earnings add up fast! One family can generate $600 to $1000 or more per year just by paying with scrip.
  • There are no upfront fees. Broad Creek Middle School receives every penny you earn.
  • Great Lakes Scrip offers over 700 retailers, so you can use Scrip for practically anything.
  • Families only order what they NEED and pay using PrestoPay!
  • Online ordering lets families buy and use eCards whenever they want.
  • Families can shop in-store or online at participating retailers.
  • Families place their orders online or through their mobile device and pay with PrestoPay.
  • Paying with gift cards keeps families safe from credit card fraud.
  • Electronic options are delivered quickly and directly to the family.
  • There's no cost to enroll and start earning.
  • Because of its accessibility, families can use scrip for their household spending year-round.

Our Great Lake Scrip program will be an on-going fundraiser.

Orders will be placed on the 1st and 15th of each month at 5 p.m.

***eCards and ReloadNows will be available immediately upon purchase.

Gift Cards will be sent home with your student within 3-5 school days***

Please help support our school by enrolling in the Great Lakes Scrip program and place your first order now at www.shopwithscrip.com.
