End of 8th Grade Picnic!

Bring your beach towel or blanket, hat, sunglasses, yearbooks to be signed and enjoy the last day of middle school hanging out with your 8th  grade class! There will be prizes, the results of the superlatives will be announced (you must be present to win!), and several other activities including a photo booth and DJ! Drinks, lunch, and cake will be provided.

Please complete the bottom of this form and return no later than Wednesday, May 22nd.

8th Grade Ceremony Baby Picture Slide Show

Students have until March 17th to submit a slide to Mrs. Pinkerton in the Google Classroom. All students were given the opportunity to create and share a slide that will be presented at the 8th Grade Ceremony.  Students were given specific directions on the types of images and quotes that could be used in their slide. See attached Slide Show for examples and details. 



Rising 9th Graders- CHS Information

Important Information for Rising 9th Graders

  • Students are aware, those who are not in good academic standing are not allowed to participate in 8th grade "specific activities". This includes all 8th grade events such as: the CCC and CHS visit, 8th Grade Ceremony and 8th Grade Celebration and any other events specifically for 8th graders.

  • Students on the borderline will be notified of their status after all EOG testing is complete. As with any other after school activity, students must be present on June 6th to attend the 8th Grade Ceremony. If you have concerns please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.  

  • March 27th - 1/2 of 8th grade will shadow at Croatan High School.

  • March 28th - 1/2 of 8th grade will shadow at Croatan High School.

  • April 2nd - 1/2 of 8th grade will tour Carteret Community College.

  • April 3rd - 1/2 of 8th grade will tour Carteret Community College.

  • April 4th - Parent night at Croatan High School.

  • April 4th - Croatan administration meet with 8th graders @ 2pm in the BCMS gym.

  • April 8th, 9th, and 10th- Croatan Counselors will be at BCMS to register all 8th grade students for freshman year. Parents may contact our front office to set up an appointment to register with their student. This is optional for parents not required.

  • June 5 - 8th Grade Ceremony @6pm @ CHS

  • June 6  – Courtyard Celebration (this is an 8th grade parent sponsored event)
