Weinhold, Sarah Principal

A Note from our Administation

On July 1, 2015 I was honored to be selected as the principal of Broad Creek Middle School.  The excitement from that day is still going strong.  As cliche as it might sound, I absolutely love working with children and middle school ones are the best!

I started my career in Hertford County Middle School teaching math and science in 1994.  I  joined the Carteret County School System in 1995 as a fourth grade teacher at Newport Elementary School and in 2000 I moved to fourth grade at Morehead City Elementary School where I was elected as their Teacher of the Year.  I later joined the staff at Morehead City Middle School as a sixth grade math teacher.  I served as the assistant principal intern at Croatan High School for the 2010-2011 school year, and in 2011, I was named an assistant principal at the school.  In 2014 I was selected as the Assistant Principal of the Year for Carteret County Schools. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Chowan College and a Master of Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum from East Carolina University.  I am also National Board Certified. Prior to my career in education, I worked at the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Director for the North Carolina Seafood Festival.

Broad Creek Middle School is the home of many talented educators. We work daily to make sure our students are prepared with the needed skills to conquer tomorrow.  We hold high expectations for students and believe instilling a desire to be the best we can be in all aspects of life is of the utmost importance.

At Broad Creek Middle School the Vision and Mission describe our daily goals of educating students.

The Vision is simple - Motivating.  Students. Daily.

The Mission of BCMS is reflective of our PBIS (Positive Behavior and Intervention Support System):

  • *Provide a well-maintained, welcoming, and safe environment

  • *Engage students in purposeful learning experiences

  • *Build respectful relationships

  • *Teach responsibility

I welcome you to Broad Creek Middle School and invite you to become involved, we welcome volunteers. You will not regret it and the memories will last a lifetime!

My career in education began in 1990 as a high school mathematics teacher at E.C. Go Bulldogs!

I would like to thank the students, staff and parents of Broad Creek Middle School for making this an amazing place to work!
